In conclusion from looking at different Empire magazines I have come to the conclusion to produce a more modern looking film poster. This is because I prefer the overall look, having the main image cover the whole of the magazine front cover, rather than having a white background for the 'Empire' title or other text added in.
Main conventions I want to include on the magazine cover are:
- Use of a blue/ white toned text to display our genre of film (supernatural horror) - This idea has been gained from looking for font colouring for our film trailer, for example in the trailers for Below and The Haunting In Connecticut.
- Having a dark image of the main horror character covering the whole space of the cover. As our film is supernatural, we wanted our teaser trailer not to show clearly who or what exactly the scary character is, so we will keep this in mind for our magazine cover also.
- The typical Empire idea of '4 (or any number) Covers to collect' to make this seem like a genuine Empire cover
- Small text on other films coming out soon
- A tagline such as ''Who will survive THE HANGMAN'' or something similar
