The Cottage trailer

Length: 1:41
Titles:

These titles display how this film isn't exactly a conventional horror, as it has an aspect of comedy in it. The way that the wooden titles look very fake is comic, so this is something we will not have in mind for our trailer, though it works well for this one.

Techniques/ Ideas for my film:
Costume - Use of a scarred face clearly shows the element of horror. Also the plaid shirt is something typically associated with the countryside, therefore showing the location of this film. By having the location away from the city, it gives a feeling of loneliness and therefore there could be an element of danger.
The lights being turned of is something to consider for our trailer, as it gives a feeling of danger easily and quickly.
The use of having a lighter as the only light source other than the moon again adds to the element of fear in the trailer.
When the fast shots of the horror character come, a lot of different transistions are used to give a chaotic and confusing feeling for the audience.

Storyline/ narrative  & dialogue:
>'Strangers don't fair well in these parts' / 'You make sure you lock your doors'
Dialogue displays the storyline, that something bad happens in this location.

>'We're in a cottage in the middle of nowhere'
Displays location - 'middle of nowhere' shows they are alone and unsafe

>Use of Old MacDonald Had A Farm as the song on the trailer shows the comical aspect to this horror film, as it juxtaposes with the violent film footage.
