Final Soundtrack
The track "Horror Music" from the website: http://www.audionautix.com/index.html is what we have chosen for our final soundtrack throughout the whole of the teaser trailer. This may seem an unusual choice, as it isn't fast paced building tension. Instead it builds tension slowly, and the single drum beat when the 'COMING SOON 2013' title appears which releases the tension and ensures the time when the film comes out is noticed by the audience, so they will remember the year and to look out for this film. At the beginning of our teaser trailer we have included dialogue and some music from the television programme 'Most Haunted' in which the characters gain the idea to make a ouija board. We deleted all other sounds and dialogue from the footage, as it was so quick that any sound from the clips would not sound right. For this we disconnected the sound and video from eachother using Adobe Premier and then deleted all of the sound.
Todays filming
These images display our filming from today in which we produced the falling shot to go in our film trailer. This shot is important as it shows our whole film is about someone being hung, so the idea of the camera falling and the evil ghost (but in this shot it is visible) is dropping someone off the staircase.
We set this shot up by dropping the camera onto some pillows to save it at the end of the shot, but also so that the shot ends white, rather than ending on a different colour which will be distracting away from the main purpose of this shot.
Animatic
Below is our animatic. The transistions added in will be the ones we are going to use, and the differences in length are what we are aiming to use (some shorter than others). This animatic just consists of quick sketches, basically showing what sort of thing we want to display in our teaser trailer.
Todays filming
Today we began filming for our teaser trailer. We have changed and developed our ideas slightly, as when we came to filming we decided other ideas would be better. Today we filmed the 'party scene', which we changed to not being a party, but more just friends together. We also did not film this at night, as we thought the whole teaser would fit together better if it was at the same time of day. Also the fact that these events are happening in the day also gives a feel of unease, because most horror films happen at night giving a film to this time of day, whereas if we are filming in the light, it gives this same scary feeling to day.
Above is an image of two of our characters, in the setting where they have a conversation about creating a ouija board. Below is an image of Alex filming. We filmed this scene from many different angles, as it will be the main element of our teaser trailer explaining breifly how all of these events begin.
Filming - Ouija board
The above shots show today when we were creating a ouiji board for our quick shots. We made Fabian write out this on paper, which we will speed up using Premier Elements 'Time Stretch' tool. The top image is one of a ouija board which we used as the outline for ours.
The above video is where our idea for using a hand made ouija board came from.
